"Sukarno's Indonesia and Suharto's Indonesia"

Purpose:
Political situations in Indonesia have changed drastically since the breakdown of the Suharto regime. It has become possible for the scholars on Indonesian society and politics to review the political system established through the Suharto regime while comparing with that established through Soekarno regime, and thus prospect the future of Indonesia. This seminar aims at exploring the change and continuity of the Indonesian political order under Soekarno and Suharto from the comparative perspective on the government institutions and political ideologies of the both regimes.
