アフリカにおける焼畑農耕民の社会生態と持続可能な地域開発
これまでタンザニアのトングウェやザンビアのベンバなどの焼畑農耕民を対象として、その生態・社会・文化の相互関係や変容の動態の研究を続けてきた。最近は、タンザニア国において、在来性のポテンシャルを踏まえた持続可能な地域開発の研究を進めている。
