アジアにおける地域在住高齢者の疾病と健康度に関する包括的フィールド医学研究
従来の臨床医学は、患者を臓器病変を中心に生物学的個体としてとらえる傾向がつよかった。しかし、慢性疾患を有する高齢者では、臓器病変のみならず、地域で生活を営む生活者としての機能が重要である。さらにフィールド医学では、単なる生活者ではなく、自然環境や文化背景も視野に入れた生態学的視点が重要である。本研究では、アジア諸地域（韓国、中国、シンガポール、タイ、インドネシア、ミャンマー、ベトナム、ラオス）における地域在住高齢者の疾病状況、日常生活能力、ケア-体制、生きがい（Quality of Life:　QOL）を老年医学的総合機能評価法を用いて捉え、生態環境ならびに文化的背景との関連で日本人高齢者とも比較検討し、高齢者に対する予防、治療、ケアーのありかたを考究する。
