柴山守
 研究課題：
コンピュータや情報通信技術を歴史、文化、地域研究へどのように応用するかという研究である。沖縄歴史情報研究、大坂町触のSGML(Standard Generalized Markup Language)/XML(eXtensible Markup Language)化, 正倉院文書の復原過程記述などにおいて、情報資源の蓄積、提供方式に関する研究とシステム開発、テキスト記述・語彙分析、XMLによるドキュメント構造解析を行う。
最近は、地理情報システム(Geographical Information Systems)技術を歴史・文化・地域研究へ応用する研究を進め、主に近世日本と東南アジア諸国間交易をGISで探求し、３次元表現、可視化する試みに興味をもつ。特に、タイ国アユタヤ、スコタイ遺跡の古代都市及びアンコールから東北タイを経由してスコタイに至る仏教文化の伝播をGIS及びVRを用いて復元し、可視化を行う研究、近世大坂（元禄、天保時代）と現在の地図、航空写真による重ね合わせと3次元再現化を行い、これに琉球、ベトナムの史料を加え、12世紀から19世紀に至る外交・交易ルートや文化伝播の可視化と復元を目指す研究やシステム開発を課題にする
