Workshop "Environment, Livelihood and Local Praxis in Asia and Africa"

First 21st Century COE Program (ASAFAS-CSEAS) sponsored Field Station Cooperative Workshop took place in Addis Ababa in October 2003. The workshop attempted to contribute the furthering of area study by enhancing the knowledge about local community, ecology, or environment through sharing of opinion or research achievement among researchers working in different country or area.

During 3 days of session, 16 graduate students in ASAFAS (12 students working on Africa and 4 students working on Asia) and 6 students from Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology (SoSA), Addis Ababa University presented their research achievements.

After the sessions in Addis Abeba were finished, study tours were prepared to enable participants of the workshop to visit various areas of Ethiopia.
